The Skills Training and Enrichment Program (STEP) at Holyoke Community College, began in 1993. When the program began it was serving about fifteen students, today STEP is serving about sixty students. STEP is a comprehensive program of academic and personal support services for middle school students in the City of Holyoke, MA. The primary goal of the program is to serve middle school participants and high school peer mentors to prepare them to enter and complete high school better prepared to succeed in college.
